Locus-MPI also operates a physical manned model facility, Port St. Tammany Manned Model Training and Research Center, in nearby Bush, Louisiana. Port St. Tammany is located on a two-acre lake and includes a one-acre adjustable-depth research pond with a fleet of four manned-model 1/25th scale ship models and six remote-controlled tractor tugs.

Due to their smaller scale, MPI’s manned models dock five times quicker than their full-scale counterparts, allowing students to practice more quickly and effectively. We provide a controlled environment to replicate diverse waterway configurations offering pilots a chance to train for complex maneuvers in a safe and controlled environment. In addition, we can configure specific docks to create scenarios that are of critical interest to each client.
